Forget trendy diets and fleeting fitness crazes, my journey to better health started with a practice thousands of years old: Ayurveda.
Want to know how I've improved my health and well-being? It all started with exploring the ancient wisdom of Ayurveda. Through its teachings, I've been able to identify and release five habits that were negatively impacting my life.
New to the world of Ayurveda? No worries! Head here and do a deep dive - in simple terms, to get caught up and then come back!

As an Ayurveda Wellness Coach – here are the habits I stopped doing to improve my health and well-being.
Here are 5 habits I’ve released over the years, thanks to the wisdom of Ayurveda.
1. Drinking Cold Water – I used to love ice water and found it refreshing, especially on a hot summer day. When you want to drink ice water in the Summer because your body is hot, you need the opposite! Warm water only, please. Cold water weakens Agni (digestive fire) and slows everything down. We want to create the fire not dampen it!
2. Eating a Big Dinner – Total gut sabotage! Ayurveda taught me that noon is when our digestion (Agni) is at its strongest – this is when your largest meal should be. So, you can fully digest it. Dinner should be early (6 pm is ideal, 7 pm at the latest), and light in nature. Think soups, cooked veggies and light protein.
3. Over-scheduling – constant busyness felt productive, but it drained me. Ayurveda taught me the value of ritucharya (seasonal rhythms) and working with the cycles – both nature and menstruation.
4. Not Getting Enough Sleep – I used to subscribe to the hustle culture and that sleep was something you did when you retired, or died. Sleep is non-negotiable! Now I protect my nighttime routine, which winds me down for sleep like it's sacred – because it is.
5. Food Combining – (Mixing fruit and dairy or grains for example). I thought it was clean eating. Ayurveda calls it a recipe for ama (toxins). Why? As the fruit breaks down the acids in the fruit and the gut create magic. Sometimes that magic is Good magic – other times, it's Bad magic…Now I almost always eat fruit solo and no more bloating!
I've learned that simple is always best!
And that simple creates lasting results.
This is what I teach and guide my Ayurvedic Wellness Clients.
We breakdown and get to the root cause so we can build from the ground up!
These 5 small but mighty habits, if implemented, can make a world of a difference in your life.
